Van Crashes Into Vacant Wareham Home and Causes Fire
WAREHAM (WBSM) — The Wareham Fire Department responded to a Marion Road home Sunday evening after a van struck the home and caused a fire.
John Walcek, Public Information Officer for the Wareham Fire Department, said that at 6:28 p.m. on September 8, multiple crews from the Wareham and Onset fire departments responded to 164 Marion Road for a report of a vehicle that struck a home and that was on fire.
Firefighters arrived to find a van had struck the home, causing significant damage. The house was vacant at the time and undergoing renovations.
Walcek said visible fire was quickly knocked down by firefighters and the driver of the van was taken to local hospital by Wareham EMS.
The Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team was summoned to assist with the removal of the vehicle from the home.
