Spirit Halloween Opens New Stores in Fairhaven, Wareham

FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — It’s time to get into the spirit of the season as Spirit Halloween is officially open in Fairhaven and Wareham.

The Dartmouth store is already open, as are the stores in Swansea, Seekonk and Raynham. The SouthCoast’s two newest locations, which we first reported to you last month, now join in the spooky fun.

Where the New Stores Are Located

The Fairhaven location occupies the building in the Fairhaven Commons shopping plaza that formerly housed American Freight, and before that, Sears Appliance and Hardware. The Wareham location is the former Sleepy’s store in the Cranberry Plaza in East Wareham, next to Stop & Shop.

What Shoppers Will Find Inside

I stopped by the Fairhaven location this afternoon, and the friendly staff informed me they had just opened for business yesterday. They said there had been a delay of about two weeks. Some sections still had some bare shelves or missing masks, and the staff members said products were still being delivered to get the store fully stocked.

At that time, staff members told me they weren’t sure when the Wareham location would open, but a Spirit Halloween manager later posted in a Wareham Facebook group that the store is now open, even though the website did not list it as such. The store's webpage at SpiritHalloween.com was later changed to reflect that the store is open.

Big Business Behind the Spooky Season

According to Fortune, Spirit Halloween brings in about $2 billion a year in revenue, between the three months or so that its physical locations are open, as well as its bustling online business from its year-round website.
