Taunton Mayor’s Missing Daughter Found Safe
TAUNTON (WBSM) — Taunton Mayor Shaunna O’Connell’s daughter, who went missing after leaving a wellness center in Ohio, was found safely Sunday.
O’Connell announced in a Facebook post Sunday night that her daughter, 18-year-old Riley O'Connell, was found safe by local police in Columbus at 6 p.m. She received medical attention and was reunited with her family that night.
“Riley is found and she is safe,” O’Connell wrote.
Riley O'Connell was first reported as missing on Wednesday after leaving the Evoke Wellness facility in Hilliard Ohio early in the morning. According to the mayor, her daughter was at the facility for months, receiving treatment for a "long-term battle with mental health issues.”
O’Connell and her husband Ted traveled to Ohio to assist law enforcement with the search.
Residents of Taunton held a vigil at the Christ Community Church on Friday to offer support for Riley and her family.
