TAUNTON (WBSM) — A second New Bedford woman has been arrested in connection to the murder of a Brockton man and the shooting of seven other victims at a Taunton house party last weekend.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced that Malkiah Cunningham, 25, of New Bedford has been arrested and charged with one count of murder, and seven counts of armed assault with intent to murder for her role in the shooting.

She is expected to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 11 in Taunton District Court.

Details of the Taunton House Party Shooting and Homicide

Taunton Police received several 911 calls at about 12:37 a.m. on September 6 reporting shots fired and multiple people shot in the area of Weir Street and Sumner Street. Officers responded and learned the shooting occurred at 261 Weir Street. Near the intersection with Sumner Street, police found multiple gunshot victims, who were then transported to area hospitals for treatment.

One of the victims, Zirovick Depina, 22, of Brockton, was pronounced deceased Sunday morning. In total, there were eight people shot, all in their early 20s. One of the remaining victims was last said to be in serious but stable condition, and the others all suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Another New Bedford Woman Previously Arrested

On Wednesday, September 9, Sienna Barboza, 25, of New Bedford was arrested and charged with one count of murder and seven counts of armed assault with intent to murder for her role in the shooting. She was arraigned this morning in Taunton District Court and ordered held without bail.

The incident remains under investigation by Taunton Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the D.A.’s Office.
