New Bedford Motorcycle Crash Kills 21-Year-Old Man

NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — A New Bedford man was killed in a motorcycle crash last week.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced that Anthony Navarro Rodriguez, 21, died Saturday, September 5 as a result of injuries suffered in the Friday, September 4 crash.

New Bedford Police and EMS responded to the intersection of Walnut Street and S. Sixth Street at about 9:55 p.m. that night after receiving 911 calls reporting a crash involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle.

Police arrived to find a motorcycle in the intersection with significant damage. Rodriguez was found on the ground suffering from significant injuries. He was taken to a local hospital and then medflighted for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

He passed away from those injuries on Saturday.

Sedan Involved in New Bedford Motorcycle Crash

The D.A.’s Office said the other vehicle involved in the crash was a Saturn sedan. The driver of the Saturn remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Ongoing Investigation

The crash remains under investigation by New Bedford Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office.
