Juvenile Skateboarder Seriously Injured in Tuesday Afternoon Taunton Crash

TAUNTON (WBSM) — A juvenile on a skateboard was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Taunton and suffered serious injuries.

Taunton First Responders Arrive at Cottage and State Streets

According to Taunton Police, officers and Taunton Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to Cottage Street at State Street at about 4:47 p.m. on September 22 for a reported collision between a car and a pedestrian.

First responders arrived to find the juvenile male suffering from serious injuries. He had been riding a skateboard and was struck by a motor vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Taunton woman.

Skateboarder Transported to Hospital With Serious Injuries

The boy was taken to a local hospital. No further information was provided about his condition or his identity.

Driver Cooperating as Crash Reconstruction Unit Investigates

Police said that the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. They did not say if charges are expected.

The incident remains under investigation by Taunton Police and the Taunton Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit.
