WAREHAM — A Wareham man has died following a motor vehicle crash in Wareham on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, September 20th, around 4:27 p.m., Wareham first responders responded to a motor vehicle accident on Cranberry Highway near Main Avenue.

At the scene, officers located a male who had been thrown from a vehicle following a car accident in the parking lot of Charlie's Place. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced deceased a short time later at Tobey Hospital.

Michael R. Baxter, 61, of Wareham, died after losing control of his vehicle on Cranberry Highway and colliding with a utility pole and vehicle in the parking lot of Charlie's Place.

The vehicle then flipped over, ejecting the driver in the process.

The operator of the other vehicle, a female from Bourne, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Wareham Police and Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
