
West Wareham Man Gets 5 Years for Child Pornography Possession
BOSTON (WBSM) — A West Wareham man has been sentenced to five years in prison and five years of supervised release for the possession of child sexual abuse material.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Joshua Roe, 38, received the sentence today after pleading guilty in January 2025 to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Roe was arrested on September 6, 2024, when a search of his home turned up images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material. He was charged by criminal complaint.

What Investigators Found at Roe’s Home
In all, authorities seized 11 electronic devices from Roe’s home, and a forensic examination turned up more child sexual abuse material on seven of those phones, including some files that had been deleted.
Roe Received Minimum Mandatory Sentences
The charge of receiving child pornography called for a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison, supervised release of no less than five years and a maximum of life, and a $250,000 fine.
The possession charge provided for up to 20 years in prison, a mandatory minimum of five years and up to life of supervised release, as well as a $250,000 fine.
Roe had been in federal custody since his arrest.
