According to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Wareham Fire Department responded to 102 Kimberly Court in the Garden Homes North mobile home park at about 8:40 p.m. on April 11 for a reported fire.

An adult suffering from serious injuries was located by firefighters and transported to a local hospital. A second adult did not escape the fire and was found deceased inside the home. The Fire Marshal’s Office said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Their identity has not yet been released.

“On behalf of the Wareham Fire Department, I want to express our heartfelt condolences to the family that lost a loved one and a home last night,” said Wareham Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Haskell. “This is a terrible tragedy for them and our community.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Wareham Fire Department, Wareham Police, Massachusetts State Police fire investigators assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
