WAREHAM (WBSM) — Wareham Police arrested a Bourne woman after she was allegedly attempting to break into cars in the Stop & Shop parking lot and discarded a loaded firearm when confronted by police.

On Sunday, February 16, patrol officers were dispatched to the Stop & Shop on Cranberry Highway for a report from a store employee regarding a suspicious female pulling on the doors of cars in the parking lot.

Police said the officers were able to identify the woman as Cassandra Lewandowski, 34, of Bourne. They also said that as they were investigating the incident, Lewandowski allegedly discarded a loaded firearm during her interaction with officers.

Officers placed her into custody and secured the firearm.

According to police, the officers also learned that Lewandowski had allegedly stolen items out of an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot. She was arrested and charged with various firearm charges, breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and larceny offenses.

She is being held on bail and will be arraigned in Wareham District Court on Tuesday, February 18.

Lewandowski is currently being held on bail and will be arraigned at the Wareham 4th District Court on February 18, 2025.
