BOURNE (WBSM) — A pickup truck became submerged in the waters of Buzzards Bay this afternoon while attempting to launch a boat.

According to a Bourne Police Facebook post, a 49-year-old Bourne man was attempting to launch the boat at Taylor Point Marina at 12:56 p.m.

What Caused the Truck to Slide into Buzzards Bay?

Police said that during the process, his vehicle, a red 1997 Ford F350, lost traction as the driver was attempting to drive back up the boat ramp. As a result, the vehicle began sliding down the ramp, where it became fully submerged in the water.

Driver Escapes Unharmed from Submerged Vehicle

The driver was the only person in the truck at the time and was able to exit the vehicle without any injuries, police said.
