TAUNTON (WBSM) — Two women were injured in a Taunton crash Saturday afternoon and police are still seeking the occupants of the other vehicle involved.

According to Taunton Police Chief Edward J. Walsh, officers responded at about 2 p.m. on December 14 to a reported crash in the area of Whittenton Street and 4th Avenue.

Officers arrived to find a 2018 white Toyota Camry and a 2012 black Kia Forte involved in the crash.

Both the driver of the Camry, a 46-year-old woman from Berkley, and her passenger, a 40-year-old Taunton woman, were injured in the crash.

Walsh said both were transported to local hospitals. He said the passenger was treated and released while as of Sunday, the driver remained hospitalized. Their identities were not released.

Walsh said the occupants of the black Kia Forte, including the driver, fled the scene before police arrived.

The crash remains under investigation by Taunton Police as well as Massachusetts State Police. Anyone with information is asking to contact Taunton Police detectives at (508) 821-1475.
