Stoughton Man Sentenced to State Prison on Gun Charges
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Stoughton man has been sentenced to state prison on gun charges for a 2022 incident in Raynham.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Jules Tucker, 36, pleaded guilty and was sentenced on December 10. He entered the plea after a jury had been selected but before his trial began.
Tucker pleaded guilty to unlawful carrying of a firearm, possession of a high-capacity firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm. He was sentenced to served two and a half to four years in state prison.
The charges stemmed from a June 15, 2022 incident when at about 1:05 a.m., a Massachusetts State Trooper observed Tucker driving down Route 138 in Raynham. The trooper queried the license plate on the vehicle, which came up uninsured and with an expired inspection sticker.
The trooper then stopped the vehicle, in which Tucker was the sole occupant. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle before it was towed away, the trooper discovered a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber handgun loaded with 13 bullets under the driver’s seat.
Tucker did not have a license to carry a firearm.
