WEST WAREHAM — For one night only, the Wareham Police became the Chase Ham Police.

According to a post on the Wareham Department of Natural Resources Facebook page, Wednesday night at around 7:45 p.m., Wareham Police officers responded to Fearing Hill Road in West Wareham on a report of a 300-pound pot-bellied pig named Brady that had escaped from his home.

Luring Brady with some dog treats, the officers were able to lasso the pig using a rescue rope bag from their cruisers. A Department of Natural Resources officer then arrived on scene, and as the authorities tried to formulate a plan about what to do with such a large animal for the night, the owner was located just before 9 p.m.

Brady was returned safe and sound via pickup truck to his home about one mile away from where he was captured.
