An Onset man is dead and another man is injured following a weekend car accident in Wareham.

Wareham Interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh says the crash took place just after midnight on Sunday morning. The investigation is ongoing, but preliminary indications show the vehicle driven by 45-year-old Raymond Cardoza, Jr. of Onset was headed south on Charge Pond Road while another car driven by 35-year-old Richard Hollis of Wareham was headed north when the collision occurred.

Raymond Cardoza was pronounced dead on-scene. His car was flipped over on its roof.

Hollis suffered a serious leg and hip injury as a result of the crash, and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center.

The accident remains under investigation by the Wareham Police Department and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
