Deceased Body Found in Onset

WAREHAM — Wareham Police are investigating after the deceased body of a man is found in Onset.

On Friday, December 1st at approximately 3:30 p.m., a member of the Onset Fire Department was conducting a routine inspection in the area of Marc Anthony’s Pizzeria at 190 Onset Avenue, when the body of an apparently deceased adult male was found. The Wareham Police Department and Wareham EMS were immediately notified of the situation, and the male was confirmed as deceased.

The deceased male was determined to be a 36-year-old Onset resident, who was known to the staff at restaurant. At this time, indications are that the body had not been at the location for an extended period of time.

Although the official cause of death is yet to be determined, preliminary investigation of the situation has shown no indications of foul play, and there is no present danger regarding the general public.

Identification of the male is being withheld at this time, due to respect for time to notify family members during this obvious sensitive time.

The matter is under investigation by the Wareham Police Department Detective Division and Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit.
