
Brockton Man Held in Fall River Man’s Murder
BROCKTON (WBSM) — The man accused of fatally stabbing a Fall River resident in Brockton on Saturday has been ordered held without bail.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said Johnny Richmond, 36, of Brockton pleaded not guilty today in Brockton District Court to one count of murder.
He is due back in court August 20 for a probable cause hearing.

Richmond is charged with fatally stabbing Edmar Goncalves, 39, of Fall River on the evening of July 20. The incident occurred in a park located at the intersection of Crescent Street and Montello Street in Brockton.
According to the D.A.’s Office, Brockton Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing.
It is alleged that Richmond was threatening several people at the park with a pocketknife. When Goncalves attempted to intervene, Richmond allegedly stabbed him.

Goncalves was located at the scene and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The D.A.’s Office said Richmond was arrested a short time later near where the stabbing occurred. He had a laceration on his hand and was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment.
