Ice Cream Lovers Can Soon Get Acushnet Creamery in Wareham
If you’re an ice cream freak like I am, there’s some great news for you. Acushnet Creamery continues to expand its reach across the SouthCoast. This time, it's the people of Wareham who have reason to celebrate.
New Waterfront Ice Cream Spot Coming to Wareham
According to Danny Warren, owner of Warren's Harborview in Wareham, the restaurant is just weeks away from opening a riverside ice cream stand. And yes – you guessed it – the new stand will be serving up Acushnet Creamery ice cream.
“We’ll actually have an exclusive flavor for us that won’t be available anywhere else,” Warren said.

Cementing the heritage of cranberries in town, Warren is pleased with the Wareham-themed flavor.
“It will be the only place in the world to get cranberry walnut Acushnet Creamery ice cream,” he said. The stand will serve 24 different flavors from the beloved local creamery.

Floating Structure for Resilience
The ice cream stand is expected to open toward the end of August or in early September. Construction of the small building has already begun. Warren noted it will be built using “very, very light wood and structural foam,” with the possibility of placing the stand on houseboat-style pontoons.
“If a flood does come, it will be secured to a tree and let it rise with the water,” Warren said. The structure is designed to remain on the property year-round.
