Wareham Police Arrest Onset Man for Attempted Arson

WAREHAM — An Onset man is under arrest for attempted arson.

Monday afternoon at 2:25 p.m., Officer Steve Joy and Sergeant Paul Somers responded to an address in Onset for a report of a male that had doused several items in his residence with gasoline.

Upon the arrival of officers, it was determined that he had fled the scene; however, he was located several hours later in Bourne. He was placed under arrest by Officer Pillsbury after being stopped by Bourne Police.

The man, 23-year-old Ben Baum of Onset, is charged with attempted arson of a dwelling house.
