A man riding a dirt bike on Glen Charlie Road in Wareham collided head-on with a vehicle Tuesday afternoon, according to Wareham Police.

On July 21 at about 3:35 p.m. police received reports of a motorcycle accident on Glen Charlie Road. Officer Michael Phinney arrived and observed an injured 27-year-old East Wareham man being treated by an off-duty firefighter paramedic. It appeared that the man had been operating a dirt bike and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling north on Glen Charlie Road, Wareham Police Chief John Walcek said.

The man was transported to the hospital by Wareham EMS, and the accident remains under investigation by Wareham Police Officers Hannah Salerno and Jennifer Braley. A photo of the scene provided by police shows a white truck with a badly damaged front end in the travel lane and an orange-and-white dirt bike crashed on the pavement.

It is likely charges will be forthcoming pending the outcome of the officers’ investigation, Walcek said. No further details were released.
