BOSTON (WBSM) — The Wareham man arrested last month for allegedly possessing and receiving child sexual abuse material has now been indicted by a federal grand jury.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Brandon Bendall, 49, was indicted on one count of possession of child pornography and one count of receipt of child pornography.

Bendall was arrested and charged by criminal complaint on May 2.

It is alleged that Bendall was part of an online chat group in which members viewed and posted child sexual abuse materials. A search of Bendall’s residence and cell phone allegedly turned up about 9,400 images and videos of such material, including children as young as infants.

The charges of receipt and possession of child pornography each provide for a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
