Wareham Police Help Nab Barnstable Shooting Suspect
WAREHAM (WBSM) — A suspect in a Cape Cod shooting was arrested along with two other people by Wareham Police on Wednesday.
According to police, on July 26, Wareham officers assisted Barnstable Police in locating Marckell Gordon, 22, of Centerville. They said Gordon had an active arrest warrant out of Barnstable District Court on charges of assault to murder (firearm), which stemmed from a shooting in that town.
Police pulled over a vehicle in which Gordon was a passenger, and were able to place him into custody without incident, they said. During the vehicle stop, police said they seized a .380 firearm, approximately 23 grams of suspected fentanyl and cash.
Two other people in the vehicle were also arrested as a result.
Guilherme Jalo, 21, of Wareham was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Wareham District Court on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm. Police said the charges stem from a July 2022 incident in Wareham.
Zavain Alvarez, 20, of Hyannis is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, possession of ammunition without a license and trafficking fentanyl.
Gordon will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court, while Jalo and Alvarez will be arraigned in Wareham District Court.
