Some 230 healthcare workers at Tobey Hospital in Wareham have reached agreement on a new two-year contract with Tobey's parent company, Southcoast Health System.

The contract covers nursing assistants, housekeeping staff, technologists and transport staff. S-E-I-U spokesman Jeff Hall says the agreement is "good news," but there's still work to be done.

"This is a positive step towards making progress but its not a full solution," said Hall. He said workers at Tobey will be back at the negotiating table very shortly.

The new contract includes anniversary step raises for most workers. The remaining workers will receive raises in the second year of the agreement.

The contract will expire in December, 2016.
