TAUNTON (WBSM) — One of the victims involved in Tuesday’s serious motor vehicle crash in Taunton has died as a result of his injuries, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced today.

Richard Blanchette, 20, of Middleboro was the driver of a 2018 Dodge Charger that was involved in a three-vehicle crash in the area of 1070 Somerset Avenue in Taunton at about 6:10 p.m. on March 18.

The vehicle suffered extensive front-end damage, and Blanchette was transported to the hospital for life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition. D.A. Quinn said Blanchette was pronounced deceased late Thursday.

The passenger that was in Blanchette’s car was also transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The adult female driver of another vehicle involved in the crash, a 2008 Toyota Camry, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. As of Tuesday, Wednesday, she was listed in critical but stable condition.
