SWANSEA (WBSM) — Swansea Police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a man they say tried to lure two 13-year-old girls behind a local store Thursday.

According to Lt. Mark Foley, a man in his 60s with gray hair and an average build was driving a four-door dark blue sedan, possibly a Hyundai Sonata.

At about 2:45 p.m. on March 28, the man allegedly approached two girls as they walked down the bicycle path on Milford Road, behind the Target store on the Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

Police said the man allegedly asked the girls if they wanted a ride.

The girls asked him to repeat his comments. He again offered a ride, and the girls ran away.

Security cameras at Target caught the girls running toward the store, and had also captured the man minutes before the incident parked at Target.

Police said the man exited the vehicle, removing items from the front and back seats, and placed them in the trunk. They said he walked away from the vehicle and stared down the road, in the direction from where the girls would be walking.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Swansea Police at (508) 674-8464.
