Update: Standoff Ends In South Dartmouth
Update: The standoff at 209 Richard St. in South Dartmouth ended around 6:30pm, when police took the suspect into custody. The unidentified man had barricaded himself inside the home with several weapons since 11am. Negotiators were called in at mid-afternoon, in hopes the man would surrender. Police responded to the Richard St. address after learning the man, a former law student, had sent a threatening e-mail to the Roger Williams University Law School.

A negotiation team has been called in. The man is believed to be a former student at the Roger Williams University Law School, and sent a threatening e-mail to the school earlier today. Police have asked that people stay away from the area. We'll post more information as it becomes available
