
Two Killed in Catastrophic Route 6 Crash Near Dartmouth-Westport Line
An Acushnet man and a New Bedford woman were killed in a motor vehicle crash Friday evening near the Dartmouth-Westport line.
Details of the Fatal Route 6 Collision
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, Dartmouth Police and Westport Police were dispatched to Route 6 at about 7:35 p.m. on July 10 for a reported motor vehicle crash.
Police arrived to find two vehicles involved in the crash: a blue Toyota Camry sedan, and a Saab sedan.
Victims Identified by Bristol County DA
The Toyota had sustained catastrophic damage, Quinn said. The driver of the Toyota was Tristan Bedient, 34, of Acushnet. His passenger was Kate Aldrich, 51, of New Bedford. Both were taken to a local hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later.
The two people in the Saab sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.

Multi-Agency Investigation Underway
Quinn said the crash remains under investigation by Dartmouth Police, Westport Police, Massachusetts State Police, and State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office.
