Rhode Island’s First Raising Cane’s Set to Open Next Week
JOHNSTON, RHODE ISLAND (WBSM) — At long last, the first Raising Cane’s location in Rhode Island is finally opening, with plenty of delicious Cane’s Sauce to go around.
The chicken finger chain first announced it was coming to the Ocean State back in November 2022, with a planned opening of mid-to-late 2023. It may have taken a little longer than expected, but it’s still opening before the announced Seekonk location that was also expected in 2023.
Rhode Island’s first Raising Cane’s will open on Wednesday, January 17 at 1386 Atwood Avenue in Johnston, in front of the StoneHill MarketPlace shopping center. It will have two drive-thru lanes, a large dining room, and an outdoor patio for the warmer weather.
The Johnston Raising Cane’s will be open from 10 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. It is also still hiring crew members for multiple positions.
To celebrate the grand opening on January 17, there will be a drawing in which 20 customers will win free Cane’s chicken for a year.
Entries will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. with the winners announced beginning at 9:15 a.m. Customers must be present to win.
The first 100 customers to purchase a Box Combo will get a commemorative t-shirt and a free Box Combo on their next visit.
There will also be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m., a check presentation of a donation to Better Lives Rhode Island, and a DJ.
Oh, and Raising Cane’s also snuck in a little bit of bonus SouthCoast news into the announcement: the Seekonk location will open this March.
Until Seekonk opens, the next-closest Raising Cane’s locations are two restaurants in Boston and one in Marlborough.
The restaurant chain that only serves chicken fingers was once considered a pipe dream, but now has over 600 locations nationwide in 39 states, Washington, D.C., the Middle East and Guam.
