He was told a restaurant that only served chicken fingers would never succeed, but Louisiana native Todd Graves believed in his dream, and since 1996, Raising Cane’s has become one of the fastest-growing large restaurant brands in the country.

Chicken lovers in New England must make the trip to Boston to enjoy Raising Cane’s at its single location here, but it turns out Graves and his popular chicken business are due to break ground next year in both Rhode Island and the SouthCoast.

What is Raising Cane's?

The idea for Raising Cane’s began when Graves was 24. His business plan received the lowest grade in a college class because the professor said it wouldn’t work. Even the banks laughed at him when he tried to get a loan, but Graves is undoubtedly the one laughing now. With 600 locations and counting across the country, Raising Cane’s is proving that the “chicken model” is a model loved by many.

Is Raising Cane's Coming to the SouthCoast?

The fast-food chain confirmed to WPRI 12 in August that Raising Cane’s would be come to Stonehill Market Place off Atwood Avenue in mid-to-late 2023, and a location in Seekonk was also in the works. Since then, Raising Cane’s has added three other Massachusetts locations to its wish list.

Mindy H., the receptionist for Raising Cane’s, confirmed to Fun 107 that the chicken spot will be coming to Marlborough and Methuen in February, with another location in Boston coming in March.

The location in Seekonk is scheduled for some time in 2023, but no date has been established for construction.

Get ready for delicious chicken with a southern twist. Raising Cane's is ready to make its name known on the East Coast.
