One Person Killed in Four-Car Middleboro Crash

A Brockton woman is dead following a four-car crash on Route 495 in Middleboro Friday afternoon.

State Police say a GMC Envoy was traveling up a ramp from Route 44 to 495 when the vehicle spun out of control.

The vehicle ended up facing south in the northbound lane of 495. It was then struck head-on by a Cadillac CTS. Two more crashes followed.

State Police say the driver of the Envoy, a Brockton woman, was transported to Morton Hospital in Taunton where she was pronounced dead. Her name is being withheld till next of kin is notified.

The driver of the Cadillac, a Wareham woman, was taken to a Brockton hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
