One person was hospitalized following a Tuesday morning crash involving a car and a cement truck.

The Swansea Fire Department says the crash took place shortly before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Rt. 6 and Rt. 136.

Crews removed the side door of the car and a dash lift was done so crews could get better access and safely remove the patient.

Fire officials say it took 12 minutes to safely extricate the patient, who was then transported to the hospital.

The patient's name and current medical condition hasn't been released.
