For those of you still getting over the loss of Lindsey's Family Restaurant in Wareham, we have some pretty good news.

The legendary Lindsey's lobster bisque is now officially being served up by Charred Oak Tavern in Middleboro.

"It's on special this week and next week," Executive Chef Dave Veronneau said.

This isn't the first time Charred Oak has served the bisque.

"I've ran it for a couple of events, but as far as it being available for customers at the restaurant, it is going on the catering menu, as well," Veronneau said.

How Did Charred Oak Tavern Get the Lindsey's Recipe?

Simple. Veronneau worked for Lindsey's for over a decade and was the executive chef there when it closed in the fall of 2022.

Veronneau knew the recipe by heart.

"I've made that recipe more times than I can think of," he said. "It's the original recipe, the way it was taught to me by the man, himself, Chef Arthur from Lindsey's."

That chef had been at the Wareham restaurant for more than 30 years.

Veronneau said he has noticed people coming in specifically for the lobster bisque, particularly in take-out orders.

Any Other Lindsey's Recipes at Charred Oak?

The lobster bisque won't be the only Lindsey's item you'll find on the Charred Oak menu.

Veronneau said he immediately changed over the Charred Oak clam chowder to the Lindsey's recipe. He cooks the seafood and rice in Lindsey's style as well.

"Pretty much anything that was on the catering menu over at Lindsey's is available here," he said.
