Police have identified a man and woman they say have been stealing thousands of dollars' worth of big-ticket items from Home Depot stores across southeastern Massachusetts.

Taunton police say the Lakeville couple will be summoned to court to face charges of larceny and criminal conspiracy.

Police say the pair has stolen items from stores in Taunton, Somerset, Seekonk and Bridgewater during the past few months.

Investigators tell The Taunton Daily Gazette that after a cashier rings up the expensive items, the man takes them outside while the woman hands over a credit card that gets rejected. She then goes outside, purportedly to get another credit card from the man, but they then both drive away.

Some of the items stolen include a power washer, chain saw and air conditioner.
