WAREHAM — An East Wareham man has been arrested for attacking another driver during a road rage incident and pulling a knife on a second person.

Wareham Police say at approximately 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to Plymouth Avenue for a reported disturbance with a knife involved. At the scene, officers determined that there was a disturbance between two males following a road rage incident.

Police say 45-year-old Edward Robinson, of East Wareham, was reported to have jumped from a car, punched the other male twice, grabbed him by the hair, and slammed his head into the hood of a car several times. A neighbor who witnessed the fighting then came out of his house trying to assist the man being attacked, when Robinson allegedly armed himself with a knife and threatened the second male.

Robinson then fled the scene on foot before he was located and placed under arrest just minutes later.

Wareham Police have charged Robinson with assault with a dangerous weapon, vandalizing property, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

He was transported to police headquarters for booking before being taken to Wareham District Court for arraignment.
