Bristol County District Attorney Tom Quinn announced a county-wide initiative aimed at stemming underage drinking outside Taunton Superior Court Wednesday morning.

Underage drinking and driving is a real danger all year long, but especially now entering high school graduation and prom season.

The District Attorney's Office has passed out informational brochures to a dozen tuxedo shops around the region that will educate students about possible dangers.

DA Quinn still wants to remind people this time of year should still be enjoyed, but that they should enjoy the upcoming event responsibly.

After-prom events were also highlighted as a successful way of keeping students safe.

Officials say it's also important for parents to get involved in educating their children about the dangers of underage drinking.
