Man Accused of Exposing Himself Twice at Bourne Commuter Lot
BOURNE (WBSM) — Bourne Police are releasing the name and photo of a suspect allegedly involved in two separate instances of exposing himself to women and committing a lewd act in front of them.
The suspect, who already had an open case for open and gross lewdness, was also allegedly involved in breaking into an assisted living facility.
Break-In at Assisted Living Facility
Police said a male suspect unlawfully gained entry into Keystone Place at about 11:20 p.m. on June 27, but fled when confronted by staff members.
Late-Night Lewd Acts Reported
About an hour and a half later – at 1 a.m. on June 28, police said the same man “approached an unsuspecting female” who was parked in a vehicle at the Sagamore Beach Commuter Lot.
“The male exposed himself to the female and started masturbating,” police said.
A few days later, on June 30, at about 3 a.m., the same male reportedly approached a different woman in the same parking lot and committed the same act.

Suspect Identified as Christopher Zarella
Police said that in both instances, the suspect had fled the scene before they arrived, but the investigation eventually led them to identify the man as Christopher Zarella, 24, of Sagamore Beach. Police obtained an arrest warrant for Zarella on July 10 for two counts of open and gross lewdness and one count of breaking and entering into a building in the nighttime.
Zarella was arrested and taken to Falmouth District Court.
Police said Zarella already has an open case in Barnstable District Court for open and gross lewdness.
“Despite the seriousness of the charges, Zarella was released from court on personal recognizance bail. A request to revoke his bail on the open case was denied by the court,” police said.
Why Police Released His Photo
They also explained why they were putting out the suspect’s identity and booking photo.
“While the department does not generally post names and photos of those we arrest, we do share this information when there is a concern for public safety,” police said. “We are releasing this limited information to make the public aware of the circumstances surrounding these cases.”
Police said anyone with information related to these cases should contact the Detective Division at (508) 759-4420 ext. 2001.
