*UPDATE: This event has been canceled.

"It is with an abundance of caution and care for our community, and as a result of medical advice in the midst of this health crisis that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 6th Annual Home and Living Show. Our first commitment is to the safety of our students, staff, vendors, and attendees and felt in the public’s best interest to cancel. This was an extremely difficult decision for the DECA program."

The Home and Living Show returns to Wareham High School on Saturday, March 21 from 10 am to 4 pm.

It is the largest fundraising event for the Wareham High School DECA. The event gives students the opportunity to work side-by-side with local businesses and gain the vital experience that they would not receive in the classroom.

The Home and Living Show is free and open to the general public. Wareham DECA students work alongside a wide variety of vendors, each with its own display and services. Last year, the club had close to a thousand community members step through the gymnasium doors to attend the show. This year they are hoping to surpass that. Along with a great demonstration of businesses, there will be a live DJ, concession stand, raffle prizes, and so much more.

People walk through the show in hopes of finding businesses to provide services that they may currently need, or will in the future. For someone like me in search of her first home, this isn't an event that I can afford to miss. Up to 60 vendors will be present and have the opportunity to connect with the homeowners of today and tomorrow.

The Home and Living Show is a great way for WHS DECA to make most of the money that is used to fund the club's activities over the course of the year. "DECA does not receive very much funding, if any, from the school or outside sources. Therefore, almost all of the money we use to subsidize the costs of being in DECA and competing comes from the fundraiser we do ourselves. The Home and Living Show is our largest fundraiser in terms of potential funds. It is very important that this event is successful." - Julianne Matthews, WHS DECA President
