WEST BRIDGEWATER (WBSM) — A Raynham man has been charged in a hit-and-run incident that occurred in West Bridgewater last Friday and now faces a drug charge after he was arrested.

West Bridgewater Police Chief Timothy Nixon said officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on December 20 at about 2:10 p.m. at the intersection of North Main Street and Matfield Street.

“A preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle was operating erratically and passing vehicles on North Main Street when it collided with a truck that was exiting Matfield Street,” Nixon said. “The motorcycle operator immediately fled the scene and could not be located at that time.”

He said a passenger on the motorcycle sustained “significant” injuries and was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
