WAREHAM — A man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run back in 2016 was arrested Tuesday by Wareham Police.

While on regular patrol around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, Officer Christopher Corner was alerted by members of the detective division to be on the lookout for Alando Santos, 47, of East Wareham. It was reported that Santos would be in the area of Onset Center, and had a suspended driver’s license as well as a warrant for his arrest.

At about 4:30 p.m., Officer Corner observed Santos driving a vehicle in the area of Onset Avenue and East Boulevard. Officer Corner stopped him and placed him under arrest. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was held without bail.

The warrant from Plymouth Superior Court was related to an incident on October 3, 2016 in which a pedestrian was struck and killed in Wareham. Santos had been charged with leaving the scene of that accident.
