SWANSEA (WBSM) — A motorcyclist suffered injuries that are believed to be life-threatening following a crash Saturday evening in Swansea.

According to Swansea Police Chief Mark Foley, police responded at about 6:12 p.m. on June 28 to a reported crash with injuries in the area of 580 Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

Officers arrived to find that a motorcycle and a pickup truck were both involved in the crash.

Foley said the motorcyclist suffered injuries “that appeared to be life-threatening” and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. He said the driver of the pickup truck was evaluated at the scene and a passenger in the truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

No names or potential cause of the crash was released. Foley said the crash remains under investigation.
