Swansea Man Arrested for Allegedly Filming Teen in Target Fitting Room
SWANSEA (WBSM) — A Swansea man has been arrested for allegedly filming a teen girl while she was in the fitting room at Target Monday night.
According to Swansea Police Chief Mark Foley, officers responded to the Target store at 579 Grand Army of the Republic Highway at about 8 p.m. on April 28 for a report that a 17-year-old girl was filmed in the fitting room.
Through investigation, it was determined the suspect had filmed the girl while she was nude in the fitting room using his cell phone. Foley said that reviewing surveillance video and making images of the suspect public via social media helped them identify John Michael Williams, 25, as the suspect.

Williams was arrested on Wednesday, April 30 and booked on charges of photographing sexual or intimate parts of a child, possession of child pornography and disorderly conduct. His phone was also seized as evidence.
Williams is expected to be arraigned today in Fall River District Court.
“This kind of invasive and disturbing behavior has no place in our community,” Chief Foley said. “We take incidents like this very seriously and will always work to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. I’m proud of the swift and diligent work of our Detectives (Jonathan) Furtado and (Charles) Rowland, and Officer (Scott) Stavens. They acted quickly and conducted a thorough investigation that resulted in the identification and arrest of the suspect.”
