The Supreme Judicial Court has ruled against the Bristol County District Attorney's Office regarding witness testimony in the Aaron Hernandez trial.

The District Attorney's Office was appealling a ruling from Judge E. Susan Garsh that prevented testimony from a witness named Robert Paradis, who said Hernandez told him he owned a .45 caliber firearm.

That is allegedly the same caliber of gun that was used in the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Prosecutors argued that the testimony was central to their case and that the judge committed a serious error when she didn't allow it.

However, in their order released Thursday morning, the Supreme Judicial Court called Judge Garsh's decision a "routine ruling on a relatively routine evidentiary matter."

The Justices also felt that prosecutors failed to prove that Judge Garsh committed a clear error of law or abused her discretion and therefore the previous ruling will stand.
