NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian incident this morning in New Bedford.

Massachusetts State Police confirmed to WBSM that troopers are assisting New Bedford Police in responding to a crash in the area of 76 Mill Street earlier today.

According to MSP, the crash involved a tractor-trailer truck and a pedestrian, and resulted in the death of the pedestrian. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Multi-Agency State Police Response

Troopers from the MSP Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, along with the MSP Crime Scene Services Section, the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section have all responded to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. We will update this story when more information becomes available.
