FALL RIVER — A woman has been killed in an early afternoon shooting at a car wash in Fall River on Memorial Day.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said police are investigating the fatal shooting as a homicide, and a person of interest is already in custody.

Fall River police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at the Globe Car Wash on Broadway at 12:36 p.m. on Monday, May 29.

First responders declared the female victim dead at the scene, according to the D.A.'s office.

A male suspect is in custody, the office confirmed.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released to the public.

A follow up statement with more information is expected in the near future.
