It's a story that is all over social media and it led to a number of calls on the Morning Show today.

Two high school students from Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical School in Taunton have been suspended after they posted a photo of themselves for Homecoming holding Airsoft rifles. The Airsoft rifles apparently are not dangerous and just shoot plastic pellets.

The boy in the picture, 15-year-old Tito Velez often competes with a team as a hobby. His girlfriend is Jamie Pereira. They posted the picture on Facebook and that post got them suspended from school. Jamie says they have been suspended  for 10 days and could possibly be expelled.

Dr. Richard Grossman is the Superintendent  and he told CBS Boston, “These students know what is provocative. To tie that to one of our school events kind of puts it over the top which brings us into it.” Dr. Grossman even said if police had known about the post on Friday they would have cancelled the dance.

I think it was a stupid thing to do but especially the timing of the post. This was the same day that three students were killed in the shooting out west and that shooter was described as a "good kid" who had recently been named the Homecoming Prince.

Should they be punished? YES! Expelled? NO. I think a one-day or two-day suspension would be sufficient, but they need to know this was poor judgement.

If you didn't have a chance to call this morning, comment now. I'd love to read your thoughts.
