Three SouthCoast vocational schools are getting a total of $5.3 million in funding from the state, after the Baker-Polito Administration announced $24 million in Skills Capital Grant awards.

A technical school in Taunton was under a shelter in place order temporarily on Thursday after Taunton police received what they believe may have been a hoax call about a barricaded suspect in a house on the same street.

The high school was evacuated Tuesday 'out of an abundance of caution."
