SEEKONK — Police are investigating a murder in Seekonk after a man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in an apartment last night.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office stated that Joseph Housley, 66, of Seekonk, was pronounced dead at the scene inside a 101 Forsythe Circle apartment on Tuesday.

Seekonk Police officers responded to a 911 call for possible shots fired at around 9:53 p.m. on July 6.

Police said the first responders arrived to find the victim dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

State police, Seekonk police, and the district attorney's office homicide unit prosecutors are actively investigating.
