The candidates for governor are getting some help from their party's biggest names in the final week before the Nov. 4 election.

First lady Michelle Obama plans to attend a get-out-the-vote rally with Democratic candidate Gina Raimondo on Thursday at the Juanita Sanchez School in Providence.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will visit Federal Hill on Tuesday with Republican candidate Allan Fung.

Christie, the chairman of the Republican Governors Association, appeared at an event in Johnston earlier this month with Fung.

Obama recently put out a video message and fundraising appeal on behalf of Raimondo.

President Barack Obama is also coming to Rhode Island on Friday for a White House event. He canceled a trip to Rhode Island College to monitor the government's Ebola response.
