Cumberland Farms Preparing Massive Nationwide Makeover of Hundreds of Stores

Cumberland Farms has seen a lot of change since its humble beginnings in 1907 in Cumberland, Rhode Island, and more changes may be in store.

WPRI-TV 12 reported on July 9, 2026, "Cumberland Farms is preparing to rebrand hundreds of its convenience stores and gas stations nationwide, according to a registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last week."

"This comes after E.G. America, which bought the Westborough-based chain back in 2019, quietly adopted the Cumberland Farms name and branding earlier this year," reported the station.

According to its website, "Cumberland Farms owns and operates 1,500+ convenience stores and fuel retailers across the United States, running 11 banners in 24 states: Cumberland Farms, Certified Oil, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf N' Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Sprint, Tom Thumb, Coen Markets, and Turkey Hill."

Big Changes In Store For Massachusetts-Based Cumberland Farms

Channel 12 said the filing means that "Cumberland Farms plans to convert between 600 and 700 of its convenience stores to its flagship banner over the next five years."

Nationwide Footprint and Store Banners Affected

Cumberland Farms operates stores under one name or another in all six New England states, New York, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Location Refreshes and Expanded Food Offerings

The station reported Cumberland plans to "refresh" 60 locations and expand the "Krispy Krunchy Chicken" food concept to more stores.

Greek immigrant Vasilios Spiros Haseotes, who founded Cumberland Farms, passed away on March 18, 2026, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 94.

The company is now headquartered in Westborough, Massachusetts.
