Police Investigate North End Robbery

New Bedford Police are investigating an armed robbery early Sunday in the North End.

A woman told police she was walking home on North Front street around 1:50am after leaving a house party, when she was confronted by three women.

The women demanded her purse and a struggle ensued.  One of the women pulled out a knife, and the victim was cut on the hand.  The suspects took off with the purse containing cash and personal papers.

The woman walked home and was taken to St. Lukes hospital by a friend for treatment of minor injuries.  Anyone with information can call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at 508 961-4584.
